Confirmed West Brom starting XI v Luton Town

West Brom have confirmed their starting XI for their Championship clash against Luton Town in the second league game of the 2021-22 campaign.

Head coach Valerien Ismael has reinstated Sam Johnstone in the starting XI, with Karlan Grant starting too.

Confirmed on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off at The Hawthorn, the Baggies have kept the likes of Semi Ajayi and Matt Phillips on the bench.

A win needed

We need to get a victory today after last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, and having Johnstone back in goal comes as a massive boost.

West Brom need to prove that they are above this level, and only statement victories against the likes of Luton will show how serious we are about an instant return to the Premier League.

Ismael wants to go one better after the promotion play-offs heartbreak with Barnsley last term, and he knows his new side needs to start picking up those victories now in order to finish in the automatic promotion places.

With Johnstone expected to remain with us for the campaign, the Baggies have every position sorted out except the striking department.

We have been linked with some exciting names so far, but we need to land a quality finisher capable of firing us back up, and hopefully, lacking one would not hurt our chances against Luton this evening.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies want to sign CONCACAF Gold Cup winner with club open to offers.
