Don Goodman questions disallowed West Brom goal v Sheffield United

Don Goodman was left scratching his head in the first half of the West Brom clash against Sheffield United this evening.

The Baggies had the ball in the back of the net twice in the early stages, Callum Robinson getting both, but they were both disallowed.

Kyle Bartley was penalised for the second one, but Goodman wasn’t so sure that the officials actually got it right in the end.

Speaking during live commentary of the game on Sky Sports, Goodman once again backed the Albion on the reviews.

“I tell you what,” he said.

“Controversial – this is what they do, I don’t think there is a foul in there.”

Saved.

Thankfully, Robinson was offside after this so-called foul anyway, so unless the linesman missed that, it would have been disallowed.

Bartley did nothing wrong in the tangle, and it was John Egan who was all over the enforcer, but in the end, won the foul.

Robinson has thrived at the start of this Championship campaign and could have had four goals in less than three full games.

We quickly forgot about this one though, as we ran riot in the second half – with Robinson eventually getting the goal he deserved.

What a night it was, and it could have been six on a different night and he would have left with the match-ball, that would have silenced the fans of his former club.
