Don Goodman thrilled by Dara O’Shea v Sheffield United
West Brom started like a house on fire in their Championship clash with Sheffield United this evening.
The Baggies had the ball in the back of the net twice in the opening 10 minutes, with both being disallowed for offside.
Despite that, Sheffield United almost had the perfect opportunity to open the scoring with Billy Sharp through on goal.

What he didn’t see was Dara O’Shea.
The young Irishman was perfect in his timing to come in and save the day with a brilliant tackle from behind on the veteran talisman.
Don Goodman was one of those blown away by the piece of defensive work live on Sky Sports, labelling it “perfection.”
“It was vital,” he said.
“It was a heart in mouth moment – absolute perfection from the young central defender.”

Perfect.
This tackle kept the scores at 0-0, and it led to us eventually taking the lead.
Darnell Furlong has made his long-throws a real weapon already this season, and it brought the opener tonight, another own goal – this time from Jack Robinson.
We can all sit back and thank O’Shea for his defensive work that gave us that shot in the arm and reminded us that it wasn’t going to be all one way.
O’Shea is one of those to really benefit from Valerien Ismael coming in, stepping ahead of the likes of Semi Ajayi in the pecking order.
In other West Brom news, This is how we lined up this evening – did Valerien Ismael get it right?
