Pat Frost reacts to West Brom win over Sheffield United

West Brom ran riot last night, putting four goals past Sheffield United to continue their unbeaten start to the new Championship campaign.

An own goal from Blades defender Jack Robinson and goals from Dara O’Shea, Alex Mowatt and Callum Robinson ensured the Baggies went top of the league table in style.

Former West Brom kit man Pat Frost was over the moon after the game, insisting the hosts could have scored more and naming O’Shea as his man of the match.

The England kit man posted on his personal Twitter account last night: “Promotion won’t be won or lost in August but that was a great win.

“I actually think we were better than the score line suggests.

“Dara man of the match for me.”

Great win

Two wins and a draw in the opening three league games of the season is huge for us.

The Sheffield Utd team fielded consists of almost everyone from their Premier League campaign last season except Aaron Ramsdale, but not even the English goalie would have been able to stop Valerien Ismael’s men from picking up all three points in style.

O’Shea was indeed impressive against the visitors, but it was Darnell Furlong’s long throws that caused them the most problems, with three of our goals coming from the aerial set pieces.

Luton Town struggled to cope with the defender’s missiles at the weekend, and West Brom may have found a lethal weapon opponents could find hard to contain.

O’Shea was solid rock at the back, and should his form continue for the rest of the campaign, we could find it hard to hold on to him next summer if we fail to go up.

From the look of things, though, instant promotion is very much possible as a result of having such quality players in the squad.

As highlighted by WhoScored, the Baggies ace won seven aerial duels and made three tackles, and we need him to keep up such incredible performances for the rest of the season.
