David Prutton predicts West Brom clash v Blackburn Rovers

Sky Sports EFL presenter David Prutton predicts four goals at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon as Blackburn Rovers host current Championship table-toppers West Brom.

Both sides head into the weekend without a defeat in their three league games so far, picking up seven points apiece.

West Brom kicked off their 2021/22 campaign with a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth before home wins over Luton Town and Sheffield United.

Blackburn, meanwhile have recorded 2-1 victories against Swansea City and Nottingham Forest either side of a 1-1 draw at Millwall.

However, Prutton has backed one of their unbeaten records to come crashing down on Saturday.

He predicts Valerien Ismael’s men to beat Blackburn 3-1 in Lancashire.

Goals

Prutton predicts four goals on Saturday and looking at the side’s recent results, it’s no wonder why.

West Brom’s three games so far have yielded 13 goals, nine of which have been in our favour.

Furthermore, Blackburn have played four games including their 2-1 EFL Cup defeat to Morecambe, and both teams have scored in all of them.

However, Albion will surely be buoyed by keeping their first clean sheet under Ismael after Wednesday night’s 4-0 thrashing of Sheffield United at The Hawthorns.

Matt Clarke looked imperious in the Baggies backline while there were impressive last-ditch challenges from the likes of Darnell Furlong.

Confidence is up after a scintillating start to the season, but this is a fixture to be wary of against former Albion boss Tony Mowbray.

With just two more Championship games left until the first international break of the season, this is a chance for Albion to play down a marker and become early pacesetters in September.
