The Athletic: West Brom have what it takes to secure instant Premier League return
West Brom have started life back in the Championship with aplomb, winning two and drawing one of their opening three league games.
Valerien Ismael’s men have been in fine form so far, and according to The Athletic: “There’s firm belief that if Karlan Grant and Grady Diangana can also get going — and if a new No 9 can be sourced — Albion have all the tools needed to get back out of this division and into the Premier League at the first attempt.”
The Baggies handed Sheffield United a 4-0 defeat on Wednesday night to put in arguably the best performance witnessed in the division since the 2021-22 campaign started.

Mid-week’s emphatic victory, the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth and last weekend’s 3-2 win over Luton Town have helped lay down the marker, but how we fare over the next 43 games is the most important thing.
Ismael’s direct style has been eye-catching and delivering the results, but we truly could do with a proven goalscorer leading our line.
Callum Robinson, Grant and Diangana can all do decent jobs in the final third, with Matt Phillips and Kenneth Zohore and providing quality cover.
However, West Brom would be more dangerous in front of goal with a hitman capable of getting us around 20 league goals this term.
We travel to Blackburn Rovers tomorrow before hosting Arsenal in the second round of the League Cup on Wednesday.
The Gunners are going to be providing us with a stern test, and it will be interesting to see how we fare.
Everyone has to deliver every week this season if The Hawthorns will be hosting Premier League football next year, and the current signs have been very good.
Whether we can keep it up and maintain this brilliant form till next May is a different matter entirely, though.
