Valerien Ismael made just one change to his West Brom squad against Sheffield United on Wednesday but it proved to be a popular one.
The Frenchman named an unchanged starting XI from the side that beat Luton Town 3-2 last weekend, but 20-year-old Quevin De Casto made the bench for the first time as Kenneth Zohore was axed from the 18-man team.
Zohore, 27, made fleeting appearances in both of West Brom’s first two Championship games this season, but he was omitted completely in midweek.

Ismael was pressed for the reason why after the 4-0 win over Sheffield United at The Hawthorns on Wednesday, but he predictably kept his cards close to his chest, telling Birmingham Live: “I don’t want to speak about the players not in the squad, I want to speak about the players who played.”
We asked our esteemed panel of West Brom Super Fans what they thought of Ismael’s decision to leave Zohore out of the squad.
Here’s what they had to say…

Ruthless
Ismael had appeared to offer Zohore a final Albion chance, but the Danish striker has failed to pay his trust back.
The former Cardiff City striker only came on in the 87th minute against Bournemouth in the opening Championship fixture but he was handed over 20 minutes against Luton.
However, his performance fell way below the standard required and it was like playing with 10 men.
That display, or lack of it, certainly failed to endear him to Albion supporters who were already sceptical of him.
Now, it looks like Ismael is losing patience.
Trying him may have been out of necessity given the lack of forward options at the club, but it may just be a case of trying to shift him out now.
Easier said than done, though.
