Joseph Masi: Blackburn Rovers fans fumed at Darnell Furlong in 2-1 West Brom win

Express and Star reporter Joseph Masi claims Darnell Furlong left Blackburn Rovers fans fuming as West Brom won 2-1 at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The 25-year-old has started all four of Albion’s Championship fixtures so far this campaign as Valerien Ismael’s men sit in the automatic promotion places with 10 points from a possible 12.

Furlong has been an instrumental figure under Ismael so far with his giant throw-ins creating havoc in opposition defences.

He was back to it on Saturday but the home fans were less than impressed by his actions, as detailed by Masi via his personal Twitter profile.

Masi wrote: “I’m not quite sure why, but Blackburn fans are absolutely livid every time Furlong uses a towel to dry the ball…”

Get used to it

It’s only been four games but rival fans are already sick of the sight of Furlong hurling the ball into the box.

Long may it continue.

Ismael looks to have unleashed a monster in Furlong this season and his throws have already led to numerous goals for the Albion.

It may not be the prettiest on the eye, but it’s an unbelievable weapon that we are fully using to our advantage.

With the likes of Kyle Bartley, Matt Clarke and Semi Ajayi around, why not utilise something so direct and dangerous?

It’s not illegal, but it’s most definitely effective.

If you have it, flaunt it. Furling is certainly doing that, and in some style.
