Valerien Ismael confirms he is after another striker, issues January claim
Valerien Ismael has admitted that West Brom are in pursuit of a new striker before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, but claims he is happy to wait until January for one.
The Frenchman brought Jordan Hugill in on loan from Norwich City earlier this week, but it appears that he is still eyeing a new frontman after the departures of Charlie Austin, Mbaye Diagne and Hal Robson-Kanu earlier this summer.
Tom Ross, a talkSPORT journalist and commentator, detailed what Ismael said to him in a pre-Peterborough United interview.

Writing on his personal Twitter profile, Ross said: “[I] Spoke to West Brom boss Val Ismael for talkSPORT ahead of the game at Peterborough.
“[He’s] Trying to sign a striker but says to get the right person he is prepared to wait until January window.
“Jordan Hugill will be in the squad for the game at London Road. Under him the U23s will play the same.”
Two more for a title tilt?
West Brom have made a sensational return to the Championship after last season’s Premier League disappointment.
The Baggies have taken 10 points from a possible 12 so far in the league, scoring 11 goals.
However, the threadbare nature of their squad was laid bare in midweek as Arsenal tore a youthful Albion side apart at The Hawthorns in a 6-0 thrashing.
Furthermore, top scorer Callum Robinson has been ruled out of the final fixture before the international break after being forced to isolate due to COVID-19 reasons.
Hugill may have arrived from Premier League new-boys Norwich, but he scored just four goals in the Championship last season while Karlan Grant only has two Albion goals to his name since joining last year.
There is a concern that if Robinson is ruled out for an extended spell this season, then the Baggies may struggle for goals.
Signing a new striker, and another midfielder, however, would make them one of the big favourites to win the Championship title this season.
