Don Goodman criticises Darnell Furlong in first half of West Brom v Peterborough
Don Goodman was left unimpressed by Darnell Furlong during the early stages of the first half between West Brom and Peterborough United on Saturday night.
West Brom broke down the home side’s left with Matt Phillips and Furlong but it ended in disappointment, as detailed by Goodman during Sky Sports’ live coverage [28/08/21].
“He’s burst through, he’s got [Grady] Diangana free as a bird to his right-hand side but he elects to take the shot on and he just gets the attempted cross horribly wrong,” Goodman said.

Furlong has started the 2021/22 campaign on fire with his long throw-ins causing chaos for opposition defences.
That has been a deadly route to goal for Albion so far this season with three strikes already resulting from it, including two own-goals.
Aside from his impressive hurls towards goal, Furlong has provided a level of consistency down the right-hand-side of the pitch.

The formation utilised by Valerien Ismael allows Furlong to spend more time in the opposition’s half compared to last season when Albion spent long periods of games bunkered in against deadly Premier League attackers.
He still impressed in the top-tier, but he is gaining even more recognition for his performances now, especially with the new tactic that is working wonders.
But he was a bit more limited than usual on Saturday as Peterborough held firm in the first half as the Albion onslaught never really came.
