West Brom go head-to-head with Birmingham for Troy Deeney
West Brom are going head-to-head with Birmingham to sign Watford forward Troy Deeney before tomorrow’s deadline.
That’s according to Ryan Taylor of the Express, who has shared that the Blues are already in talks with the powerhouse.
It is reported that Birmingham are currently the frontrunners for the veteran forward, who is set to move in the next 36 hours.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Taylor shared the major update as Valerien Ismael looks for one more signing.
“Birmingham and West Brom going head-to-head for Troy Deeney,” he wrote.
“He’s already in talks with Blues, who are frontrunners.”
Time to move.
West Brom clearly need to move quickly if they want to hijack this move.
Deeney is a boyhood Blues fan, so it appears to be a longshot, but on paper surely a move to The Hawthorns makes more sense.
How many chances will the powerful striker get to play in the Premier League? He certainly won’t get that with Birmingham any time soon.
Ismael has the Baggies flying already with his new style, and Deeney will surely look at that and fancy his chances of making a difference and potentially featuring in the Premier League one last time.
The Albion have moved quickly this summer when players have become available, and they will need to be sharp in order to jump in and take this one.
Deeney has all the experience of promotion to the Premier League under his belt and could be the perfect last addition to this group.
