West Brom ready to bring in striker on deadline day

West Brom are ready to make one final signing today as the deadline approaches very quickly.

The Birmingham Mail have reported that a striker is the final position that may be strengthened before this evening.

It is suggested that Liam Delap will be going nowhere, and other names such as Daryl Dike are still on the table.

Valerien Ismael has used the market very effectively.

The loan and free-agent market has been perfect after relegation from the Premier League led to some balancing of the books.

Matheus Pereira left The Hawthorns for big money but none of that has since been pumped back into the squad.

It has still been the perfect start to the Championship season, with the tight budget being justified by the results on the pitch.

Jordan Hugill has already signed, but with Kenneth Zohore potentially on the way out, it frees up valuable space in the squad.

Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant complete the options centrally in the final third, and Ismael will surely be delighted.

Troy Deeney was linked with the club this week, but it has been confirmed that he will be moving to near rivals Birmingham.

That throws things up in the air, with new targets needing to be identified and signed in less than 24 hours.

Deadline day is always manic, but if the Albion single out someone who is available today, it could move very quickly.
