Dara O'Shea sends Instagram message after West Brom injury blow

West Brom fans will be biting their nails all week after Dara O’Shea was forced off injured for the Republic of Ireland.

The defensive enforcer has withdrawn from the squad and returned to the Baggies with a serious ankle problem.

The Albion are still waiting on scan results to determine just how serious the blow is, but he has been ruled out of the final two international games.

O’Shea has taken to social media to deliver his verdict and send the best wishes to his international teammates ahead of two huge games.

Writing on his personal Instagram account, the defender failed to address if he would be back available for the Baggies next week.

“Devastated to be ruled out of the two home games,” he wrote. “So proud of the lads. I will be back stronger.”

Among those reacting were Kyle Edwards, who labelled his former teammate as a “warrior” for his reaction.

There is hope?

Although it was a message addressing his international teammates, O’Shea offers hope by not sharing his verdict on the injury.

The defender claiming he is missing the next two games could show that there is still hope over his availability for the clash with Millwall next week.

Valerien Ismael will surely hope so, with the young enforcer his standout performer in the opening weeks of the Championship.

Scoring goals and playing a huge role in defence has seen him shine for the Frenchman since his arrival, and the sky really is the limit for him at The Hawthorns.

We hope the ankle problem was just a roll and had nothing to do with his ligaments or it could be a long absence.

Fingers crossed and we are wishing for the best.
