West Brom star Grady Diangana blows Andy Hinchcliffe away
West Brom star Grady Diangana wowed Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe in the first half of their Championship game against QPR.
The Baggies trail at half-time thanks to a very early goal from Andre Gray, but former West Ham winger Diangana was a standout player for Valerien Ismael’s men.
The 23-year-old went on numerous mazy dribbles and caused Mark Warburton’s men a lot of problems; however, none of his teammates could take advantage.
Speaking as Sky Sports’ co-commentator, Hinchcliffe said: “His movement off the ball [is] excellent.”
Then after another move involving Diangana, Hinchcliffe added: “[There’s] a good run off the ball from Diangana, [he] lays the ball off and makes a positive run.
“He just drags a couple of Rangers defenders away.
“Diangana in the last few minutes has been excellent going forward for West Brom.”
Diangana is growing into the season.
The 23-year-old had a tough end to last season and didn’t start this season too well.
However, in the last couple of games, Diangana appears to be getting better and better and perhaps returning to his old levels.
The winger still has no end product, but he is certainly getting better and better.
One moment which perhaps summed up Diangana at the moment was when Semi Ajayi slipped the ball into him down the right after a great run.
However, once he had twisted back onto his left foot, he spooned the ball over everyone.
Despite this, he still played well in the first half, and we hope that it is just a matter of time before he starts getting goals and assists again.
He seems to be on the right track, and we will be intrigued to see what he can do in the second half as the Baggies look to keep their unbeaten league record.
In other West Brom news, Steve Madeley left baffled by Jake Livermore’s latest comments.
