Kenneth Zohore unlikely to be in West Brom squad v Cardiff

Kenneth Zohore is unlikely to make the West Brom squad to play away at Cardiff on Tuesday night despite being fit, according to The Athletic journalist Steve Madeley.

Writing via The Athletic website, Madeley reports that there’s a chance Zohore, 27, may never player for the Albion again after a failed effort to sell the Danish striker in the summer transfer window.

It is understood that Zohore was keen to quit The Hawthorns but after a move did not materialise, the ex-Cardiff striker has found himself well down Valerien Ismael’s pecking order and he’s “unlikely to even be on the team bus” for the trip to the Welsh capital this week.

No way back for Big Ken

Zohore is the most expensive signing West Brom have made outside of the Premier League but when you look at his stats and his performances, you would not believe that.

Since joining the Albion for £8million in July 2019, Zohore has scored just five times in 23 appearances across all competitions.

Two of those were penalties while another two were against Charlton. His fifth and most recent Baggies goal came in a defeat to Newcastle in the FA Cup – perhaps his only half-decent performance for the Black Country club.

Zohore’s been a massive waste of money and West Brom are unlikely to get anywhere near what they paid for the Dane when the day does eventually come for him to move on.

Luke Dowling and Slaven Bilic messed up massively when they signed him. It just shows how bad our recruitment was at times when those two were working together.

Other than a couple of gems, Dowling’s work at The Hawthorns is likely to haunt us for a few more years.

Zohore is a big reminder of how atrocious the former technical director was at his job here.

In other West Brom news, this Albion player appears to have deleted his social media accounts after being abused online.
