Ex-West Brom talent Tim Iroegbunam reacts to Reyes Cleary exit report

Tim Iroegbunam has shared his reaction to the news that West Brom talent Reyes Cleary is on the shortlist of a host of European clubs.

It was reported by the Daily Mail reported earlier this week [27/09/21] that the 17-year-old was being monitored by a host of German, Italian and English sides ahead of a possible transfer.

Online youth football platform Rising Ballers, who have over 600,000 followers on Instagram, shared the speculation on their social media, asking what Cleary should do.

Iroegbunam, who only departed Albion for Aston Villa earlier in the summer, shared Rising Ballers’ post to his Instagram story, attaching three ‘flames’ emojis to it.

Cleary then re-posted Iroegbunam’s story on his own personal Instagram profile.

More out the door?

Iroegbunam’s appearance on Cleary’s Instagram story will likely bring back some bad memories for West Brom fans.

The 19-year-old rose through the ranks at Albion before departing for their Midlands rivals in July, joining an ever-growing list of talented young players to make the same move.

Finn Azaz was another who made the switch this year while there is still resentment at the way Louie Barry ended up at Villa, via a short stint in Barcelona.

Villa themselves have not yet been credited with an interest in Cleary, but Albion supporters will no doubt be left fearing he could go the same way as many before him.

Losing any talented youngster will come as a crushing blow, particularly as there are such high hopes for Cleary, but joining the likes of Borussia Dortmund can probably be accepted given their youth development.

However, leaving for Villa would lead to more moans and groans, and understandably so.

In other West Brom news, an ex-referee was baffled by a “really bad call” that happened in this Albion game.
