West Brom star Alex Mowatt waiting on scan results for injury problem

West Brom will be sweating on the fitness of star man Alex Mowatt throughout this international break.

During the 1-0 defeat against Stoke last time out, the former Barnsley man was forced to limp off after picking up a foot problem.

The Express and Star have now shared an update on the situation, with Mowatt undergoing an injury scan to learn the extent of the issue.

It doesn’t look as though it will bring immediate results, though.

Mowatt is being forced to wait for the results of the problem, as we finally find ourselves thankful for yet another international break.

Given that the midfielder was forced from the field in that disappointing display at the Bet365 Stadium, we aren’t expecting much good news.

At least the Baggies have been given this two-week spell for their midfield maestro to recover, and essentially give him a headstart in any potential recovery without missing too many games.

Step forward.

While we await those results, attention immediately goes to his potential replacement and there is only one real option.

Jayson Molumby will have been chomping at the bit to get his chance at The Hawthorns since arriving from Brighton in the summer.

Although an initial loan move, there is a permanent clause in the deal, and it is expected to be used so now it is time for him to go out and prove why.

Molumby will get the perfect preparation this week too as he goes away with the Republic of Ireland alongside Callum Robinson.
