Valerien Ismael annoying West Brom fans with style of play

Luke Hatfield believes that some West Brom fans are annoyed at Valerien Ismael’s style of play.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, the Express & Star reporter claimed that the Frenchman’s direct 3-4-3 had left a few Baggies supporters less than impressed at various points this season.

However, they are third in the league and have collected a good number of points, so is it worth it?

Well, for some, it appears as if it isn’t.

Hatfield said: This season, we’ve seen it’s not about getting the ball on the floor and tiki-taka passes left, right and centre, and that has angered some fans who have maybe gone to a game expecting to see a good result and a good performance, and not had the experience that they’d maybe hoped for.”

Interesting points.

If you look at the number of goals scored this season and compare them with every other team in the Championship, the Baggies have smashed in 25 goals, and only Bournemouth and Fulham have scored more.

So, if you just look at that, you would say that the Baggies have been entertaining.

However, there have been a few games in which the Baggies have been very poor and managed to scramble a point or even a win.

So, you can see why some West Brom fans aren’t that happy.

However, if Ismael leads West Brom to promotion, will those unhappy Baggies fans care?

There might be some who genuinely might not be happy, which is totally fair enough; they pay their money to be entertained, and if the Baggies aren’t doing that, they have every right to be disappointed.

If the season ends in promotion, though, then you would think that most people will be thrilled.
