Kieran Maguire shares new financial update concerning West Brom

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has shared an official update from Companies House on West Brom.

It seems as if the Baggies have been released from the mortgage that they owe Barclays, which means that they have paid it off nearly nine years after it was first created.

Tweeting on his personal account, Maguire included a screenshot of the official update, which confirms that the Baggies have been released from the agreement, which you would think could ease some of the financial burden at the Hawthorns.

Interesting update from Maguire.

The Baggies were tied to this mortgage from 2013, but it appears as if they have now paid it off.

However, just how they paid it off remains unknown, and it will be intriguing to see if we ever find out just where this money came from.

Considering, they are due to receive £900,000 for Nathan Ferguson, it could be argued that money was put towards this, but no one knows that, and no one will be saying that is the case [The Athletic].

Either way, though, with this mortgage paid off, you would think that some of the financial pressure building on the Baggies could be lifted, which is great news for the club.

In a week in which the Baggies suffered several financial blows, it is good to see that they have managed to receive some good news, and this long-standing debt has been cleared [The Athletic].
