Bayern Munich keen on West Brom starlet Reyes Cleary

Bayern Munich are interested in signing West Brom youngster Reyes Cleary after a scouting mission, according to Daily Mail.

The six-time Champions League winners ran the rule over the 17-year old striker when the Baggies under-23s took on their Stoke City counterparts at the training ground last month, and they plan to do so again soon.

Cleary has bagged 14 goals in 12 games for West Brom youth team this term, but he is yet to sign a professional contract or make his first-team bow.

A lost battle?

Sportsmail reported in September that Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Hoffenheim and some Premier League sides were monitoring the teenage sensation, and it is not surprising that Bayern have now joined the race.

With the bigwigs in Europe keen, it is hard for Cleary’s head not to be turned by all the attention is getting, and West Brom could be losing one of their most promising talents very soon if care is not taken.

The Hawthorns outfit lost Louie Barry to Barcelona and Nathan Ferguson to Crystal Palace, and they will need to come up with a solid plan to have a chance of holding on to this gem.

Cleary has been compared to Romelu Lukaku due to his size, and his pace, strength and ability to find the back of the net with ease should see him develop into a fine striker going forward.

West Brom really need to hold on to this kid and pull out all the stops to do so, and losing him to a foreign club or an English rival will be a big blow.
