Saido Berahino discusses his exit from West Brom
Former West Brom striker Saido Berahino has been discussing his exit from The Hawthorns all those years ago yet again.
The 28-year-old currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday after his career fell apart when he left the Baggies in 2017.
Now, he has decided to address the situation in an exclusive interview with The Baggies Podcast, and he also discussed various other things.

He said [via the Birmingham Mail]: “Looking back now, I was definitely wrong in the way I carried myself and went on about things.
“Jeremy Peace at the time wasn’t as transparent as I would’ve liked him to be. He didn’t really try to explain his reasoning [as] to why he didn’t want to let me go he didn’t really have an explanation.
“At the time, I wasn’t like I hate West Brom; I hate everything here. I just wanted to go and progress like any young players want to do. Don’t get me wrong, West Brom did come in with offers, and they wanted to show they believed in me. I just felt like I wanted a new challenge.”
Honest and open interview from Berahino.
Things started to go wrong for Berahino after West Brom rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for him in the summer of 2015 [The Guardian].
Then in the following January, the Baggies rejected a bid from Newcastle United for the striker and in the end, he remained until the midway through the following season and then he left [Daily Mail].

However, the collapse of the deals saw Berahino give up on the pitch, and in that final season at the Hawthorns, he didn’t score a single goal.
It is interesting that he calls out former West Brom chairman and owner Jeremy Peace, and it appears as if the club had no good reason for trying to keep him at the time.
So, you can maybe understand why he grew frustrated; however, he does apologise for his actions, and this is a great interview with a player who seems to have his head screwed on now.
In other West Brom news, Valerien Ismael has discussed the booing on Saturday.
