West Brom told to go out and sign prolific striker in January

Luke Hatfield has told West Brom to splash the cash on former Barnsley striker Daryl Dike in January.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, the Express & Star journalist revealed that he would like to see the Baggies splash out £5-10million on Dike and bring him to the Hawthorns.

West Brom are crying out for a striker, and Dike could be the man they need to make a strong promotion push in the second half of the season.

Hatfield said: “Is it worth risking maybe £5m or £10m to find a player like that on a permanent basis if that’s the wind you’re going to get, you could argue it probably is.”

Dike could be the man.

The Baggies are struggling so badly in front of goal, and they are crying out for a striker like Dike.

He proved last season while he was with Valerien Ismael that he could score goals and prove to be a physical force in the Championship.

He has also been described as “fantastic” by Carlton Morris in the past [Yorkshire Post].

Currently, West Brom’s current options simply aren’t good enough.

On Friday, Jordan Hugill came off the bench and missed a massive chance to seal all three points at the end of their game against Nottingham Forest.

However, he isn’t the only culprit, and if the board actually want promotion in 2022, they have to back Ismael and get him a proper striker.

If Dike is the man he wants, they should be doing everything in their power to get him to The Hawthorns, and we agree with Hatfield that he could be exactly what they are looking for.

In other West Brom news, one Baggies senior man is set for a January exit after a disagreement with Ismael.
