Jake Livermore heaps praise on Ismael and his impact at West Brom

Valerien Ismael has instilled belief into the dressing room at West Brom, according to captain Jake Livermore.

Speaking to LV BET_UK, the 32-year-old was asked about the Frenchman’s impact on the Baggies, and Livermore seems to be very impressed.

He also believes that Ismael has provided the squad with an identity and the former Hull City man seems to be a big fan.

He said: “He has [given] us that identity and that belief.

“I think last season, we really lacked in both aspects and on top of that, he’s just a top guy.

“We’ve got bundles of ability with the likes of [Callum Robinson] and the rest of the boys; I just think it needed that direction just to put the boys on the map.”

Livermore loves life under Ismael.

It is no surprise to see Livermore praise the Frenchman because he has played whenever he has been available.

Now, he hasn’t actually been that good in some games this season and has looked a bit slow and ponderous at times.

However, because he is club captain, it seems as if he will play more often than not.

This is a nice interview about Ismael, and it is great to hear that he has tried to instil belief in the players while also introducing his style of play.

Ultimately, the Baggies are in third, so you would have to say that he has been mostly a success so far.

The problem Albion have is that Bournemouth and Fulham score so many more goals than the Baggies.

Either way, it is good to hear that the players are behind Ismael, and Livermore at least believes that he has been a positive addition to the Hawthorns.
