Return of Guochuan Lai to West Brom suggests big changes
Guochuan Lai has been missing from West Brom games and the Hawthorns for a long time.
However, on Wednesday [15 December], images emerged of him at the training ground meeting the players and Valerien Ismael [West Brom official Twitter account].
Joseph Masi also claimed that Lai is looking to sell the club but wants to help the club back into the Premier League first [Express & Star].
Therefore, it appears as if the owner of the shares is going to be a lot more hands-on going forward.
Now, this could turn out to be a very good thing in the short term, and it could mean that Ismael finally has some money to spend on transfers.
This would be incredible, and it could give the Baggies the lift they need to make a push for the automatic promotion spots.
Bournemouth have stuttered in recent weeks, and that should give the Baggies some encouragement.
If they can keep the pressure on throughout the Festive period, they should be in a great position to invest in January and really go at the second half of the season.

The big thing is will Lai free up the funds to allow Ismael to bring in a striker?
If he is going to free up some funds, then he could give West Brom exactly what they need to get back into the Premier League.
Then once he has done that, hopefully, he sells the club.
Therefore, his return to England really could be a big moment for the Baggies’ immediate future.
However, if nothing changes and the Baggies end January having not made any signings, then we can probably assume that this visit was all for show and nothing is going to change.
So now we just have to wait and see.
