Allison goal against West Brom in Sky shortlist for moment of 2021, Neville and Carragher react

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were asked to pick a moment of 2021 on Monday Night Football, with a West Brom incident involved.

Unfortunately, it was Allison’s last-minute header at The Hawthorns as the Baggies lost against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Neville or Carragher didn’t eventually pick that moment though, with England at the EUROs and the first game with fans back taking the picks.

Speaking on Sky Sports Monday Night Football (27th December), Dave Jones was thrilled while introducing the shortlist.

“We’ve also asked them to come up with a moment of 2021,” he said.

“Here is our shortlist, the Allison goal, that header was really amazing, wasn’t it?”

Amazing?

In any other game, we would admit that the goalkeeper scoring is an amazing moment, but when you have to watch them celebrate – it’s hard.

The Baggies were brilliant in spells in the Premier League last season, but rarely getting their rewards.

Games against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United saw us take them to the very wire, but only get draws or drop to defeat.

Valerien Ismael was the man tasked with taking us back there, and it is safe to say that nothing “Amazing” has been happening in recent weeks.

There is more chance of Allison scoring again at this moment in time than the Albion putting a simple chance away – something that is really starting to hurt our automatic promotion chances.
