Jeff Stelling predicts result of West Brom clash v Cardiff

Jeff Stelling has backed West Brom to return to winning ways in their upcoming Championship clash against Cardiff.

The Baggies welcome the Welshmen to The Hawthorns on Sunday (2nd January) after crashing to defeat at Derby last time out.

With goalscoring a real issue for the Albion, Stelling has predicted that it will only finish 1-0 to the home side.

Sharing his predictions in Sky Sports’ special Super 6 round, Stelling clearly isn’t expecting a thriller in the midlands.

Neil Mellor also predicts games alongside Stelling for the website, and he appeared to back the Soccer Saturday host.

The smaller Sky pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-1 to the Baggies as they start 2022 with a bang.

Must win.

We can’t spend another weekend thinking ‘what if?’

The finishing on show in the final third has been nothing short of embarrassing at this moment in time, and it has to change.

Valerien Ismael was visibly angered by the display at Derby, and it is time that he properly gets stuck in and changes things if needed.

Cardiff will know what to expect from the Frenchman and his team, so why not mix things up? That is what so many are calling for.

We don’t expect that to happen and it can clearly work given Ismael’s success at Barnsley last year, but he can’t do anything if his strikers don’t put the chances away each week.

It’s time for the players to take some responsibility too, and that has to start in this one against a tough Cardiff side.
