West Brom finally progressing with Reyes Cleary contract – The Athletic

West Brom are finally progressing with a first professional contract for Reyes Cleary, according to The Athletic.

It is reported that after months of discussions at The Hawthorns, things have finally started to move forward.

Taylor Gardner-Hickman put pen-to-paper on a new deal on Thursday (30th December) with attention then being shifted to Cleary.

Writing for The Athletic on Thursday, Steve Madeley shared the latest of what he has heard on the situation.

“Cleary has been a name on many fans’ lips, given he has been a prolific scorer for the club’s under-23s this season,” he said.

“Albion have been in talks with the 17-year-old forward for several months about a first professional deal and The Athletic understands those discussions have moved forward positively in recent weeks.”

Get it done.

Cleary is one of the hottest names, not only at West Brom, but in the entire Premier League 2 at this moment in time.

His physicality and finishing level for the under-23s has been out of this world and has led to him being involved in the matchday squads in the Championship throughout the season.

Valerien Ismael is yet to hand him his chance despite the shocking level of finishing at this moment in time, and maybe that promise could get this first professional contract over the line.

With Gardner-Hickman signing on for the long term, hopefully, the same can be done with Cleary and it is finally sorted.

Once that is done, we may start to see him featuring in the Championship between now and the end of the season.
