Valerien Ismael slams West Brom v Cardiff referee Thomas Bramall
West Brom boss Valerien Ismael has held back no punches in his criticism of referee Thomas Bramall.
A game full of controversy finished with the Baggies being denied what looked to be a clear penalty. Instead, the referee blew the whistle for full time which ended the game with both team’s level at 1-1.
Scenes quickly turned to chaos at after the game with yet another poor result piling the pressure on Ismael and his players who looked to have reached boiling point.

“It’s a clear penalty – I can’t say anything else,” Ismael told Express & Star. ” At some point you need that bit of luck, that the referee will do their job.
“I’ve seen the situation 10 times in my room and it is a penalty.
“But it wasn’t just the penalty decision, other decisions went against us.
“In my opinion it was a poor refereeing performance.”
Refereeing disaster
Bramall has done himself absolutely no favours and if he didn’t have to, probably wouldn’t want to watch the West Brom v Cardiff City game back.
It is common knowledge that ref’s often try and fix the mistakes of previous wrong decisions they have made in the game and this must be a case of that.

Jake Livermore looked offside for the Albion’s equaliser so Bramall may have seen that as a justification for not giving the penalty.
Either way Ismael has a right to be fuming and will be very lucky not to see himself fined following his true but maybe overly emotional comments regarding the referee.
He was incensed at full time but, thanks to Livermore forcing the Frenchman off the pitch, avoided the mass brawl that saw a further two players sent off from the red card we saw during the 90 minutes.
Yes you can blame the Bramall but every single member of that Albion squad, Ismael in particular, needs to look at themselves and only themselves if they want to get their promotion fight back on track.
