Chris Lepkowski hints Ismael exit amid ongoing attacking crisis at West Brom

West Brom boss Valerien Ismael has come under question as the Baggies form continues to disappoint in 2022.

Albion now sit in fifth place in the Championship, level on points with sixth place Middlesbrough; dangerously close to dropping out of the play off places.

The issue is clear to see with the Baggies scoring just 31 goals in 26 games, the joint second lowest in the top ten.

“It’s not looking very clever for him.” said Chris Lepkowski on The Liquidator podcast.

“While we were stumbling around at Loftus Road, Fulham were scoring their 13th goal in two games. You would have to go back to September for us to accumulate our 13 goals, that’s where our problems lie.

“It’s fairly clear that the fans are growing increasingly bored, increasingly angry, increasingly frustrated at what I would say is a regression of the team.

“We don’t look as if we are making progress.”

Time to go?

Week by week the fans lose confidence with this West Brom team led by Ismael. The problems have been clear all season, but it seems as if very little has been done to fix them.

Yes, the Baggies have signed Dike but that doesn’t guarantee you goals. A promising goal scorer helps but there is an agonising lack of quality in attack throughout this Albion team.

There has been no progress made in terms of West Brom’s creativity this season with it actually looking much worse than it did at the start of the season.

It’s becoming quite clear that Ismael isn’t the man to take the team back to the Premier League which is where the Baggies belong.

If Albion drop out of the promotion places in the next few weeks, expect the groans around the Hawthorns to get louder.

It is crunch time for Ismael who has no more excuses not to perform.
