Chris Lepkowski praises performance of Daryl Dike in West Brom vs Peterborough
Chris Lepkowski has admitted he was ‘really impressed’ by West Brom striker Daryl Dike in the 3-0 win over Peterborough at the weekend.
Dike made his first start for the club at the Hawthorns and played for 53 minutes before suffering a hamstring injury which forced him off.
But Lepkowski, who was speaking on The Liquidator podcast, believes the American showed that he was ‘exactly what we lacked’ in the first half of the season and was impressed by his performance.

“I must say, I thought Dike really impressed me in that first half of the game. He got into positions, he wanted to be the focal point, he was demanding. He was demanding not only of his teammates, but he wanted the ball at all times. He wanted to be the main man.
“What I took great encouragement from is that he got into some really good positions. Now a sharper, more finessed Dike might have finished one or two of those off.
“As it happened, you know, he didn’t and we do have to concern about this injury now which is a bit of a blow, but I was really impressed by what I saw in that first half.
“I thought he looked exactly what we lacked.”

Power
Dike showed all the top attributes that he has during his performance in the game against Peterborough.
He was a powerful runner, held the ball up well, was a good link between the midfield and the goal while also proving a threat in the penalty area.
His finishing wasn’t the sharpest and it was clear that he’s not quite at 100% yet, so the injury he picked up will be a big blow to the team.
For Ismael to get his big signing seemingly correct is a big sign of encouragement too, with many fans unhappy with the style of football and results the club have been delivering recently.
If they can get an exciting option in the final third, it will boost morale around the club and hopefully boost the Baggies up the table to be able to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
