View: Three players West Brom should look to sign after new development

West Brom could well be out of the race to sign Kosovan striker Vedat Muriqi with La Liga side Mallorca on the cusp of completing a deal with Lazio.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWEB, The Spanish outfit are prepared to pay all of Muriqi’s salary as well as a loan fee worth £250,000 which also includes a £10.8million future fee.

The Baggies had been in the hunt to sign the 27-year-old [Alfredo Pedulla] but they are still to make an official offer to Lazio, who are keen to sell.

If Muriqi isn’t an option then, who can West Brom sign with less than a week to go until the transfer deadline slams shut?

Dwight Gayle

First up, a player the Hawthorns is very familiar with in Championship goal machine Dwight Gayle, as per the Express and Star.

The 32-year-old is getting very few chances at Newcastle United and with cash being thrown around like it’s paper aeroplanes at St. James’ Park, it seems unlikely he will get many minutes in the future.

A return to the club he scored 23 league goals at in 2018-19 could be the answer for him, and Valerien Ismael.

Connor Goldson

At the other end of the pitch, Ismael still fancies adding a defensive option to his armoury and Rangers’ Connor Goldson could be the man [The Scottish Sun].

The Englishman has been touted to leave Ibrox for some time and John Souttar’s imminent arrival at the Scottish champions has put further doubt over his future.

Liam Kitching

A little closer to home, Ismael could raid his old club and bring in Liam Kitching from Barnsley, according to the Sunday Mirror (16 January, Page 65).

Whether the Tykes would willingly let one of their best players leave in the treacherous situation they are in right now is a whole other question but you can’t imagine the player would turn the Baggies down.
