Declan Rice reacts as Andy Carroll seals West Brom move

Declan Rice has sent a message to Andy Carroll after the striker announced his move to West Brom on his personal Instagram account.

The 33-year-old joined the Baggies on Friday and started training immediately in preparations for Saturday’s trip to The Den to face Millwall.

His former teammates and pals were thrilled to see him secure the move after leaving Reading earlier this month and becoming a free agent.

Rice took to the comments section to say: “Smash it mate.”

He will

Carroll was released by Newcastle last summer before he joined Reading on a two-month deal following a trial towards the end of last year.

While he was linked with Burnley, it was West Brom who won the race for his signature, and he will be keen to hit the ground running at The Hawthorns.

The chance to play in the Premier League again surely played a role in his final decision, and given the situation at Turf Moor, it is safe to say he was not willing to be involved in a relegation battle when a promotion challenge was available.

Having shown what he is capable of doing at Reading, Carroll will be very confident of his chances of hitting the ground running at West Brom.

He has gotten familiar with the Championship over the last few weeks, and he could prove to be a huge boost as Valerien Ismael looks to lead his side up.

He will definitely be getting a new contract if he ends up playing a key role in Albion promotion, and some exciting couple of months could indeed be ahead.

In other West Brom news, a major multi-million cash boost for Albion set to happen within weeks after Lai decision.
