Robert Snodgrass send emotional farewell to West Brom following January exit
Robert Snodgrass, 31, has sent West Brom fans an emotional message on Instagram following his departure from the club.
The Scot said he was ‘gutted’ to be leaving the Hawthorns after being signed by Sam Allardyce in 2021.
Snodgrass has made just four starts under Valerien Ismael this season with the midfielder’s contract being terminated by ‘mutual agreement’.

He wrote on his personal Instagram: “I want to thank West Brom for giving me the opportunity, from the very first day I arrived I was made to feel welcome.
“The support from the fans was superb, the players are top lads, the medical team & sports science, canteen staff, kit-men & kit ladies, receptionist and security, I wish you all nothing but best wishes.
“I am gutted to be leaving, but this was a very difficult few months for me. I want to wish the club all the best for the future, and hope to see the boys get promoted.
“I am excited for the next challenge in my career”
All the best
Snodgrass never really made a huge impact, but he will have been great to have at the club.
The 31-year-old was a great man of experience to have in and around the club having fought successfully for promotion previously with Hull City.
The Scot’s time at the Hawthorns may have felt underwhelming having scored 110 goals throughout his career whilst playing for the likes of West Ham, Norwich City and Aston Villa; unfortunately, things didn’t quite click the same for him with the Baggies.
He was quickly a favourite amongst the players fans, and it is sad that he has left but his departure shouldn’t change an awful lot from a footballing perspective.
He barely played this season and he failed to make a proper impact when trusted which is why he was never trusted under Ismael.
The move came after his falling out with Ismael, and it was never the same after that happening earlier in the season.
Good luck to Snodgrass in his the next chapter of his career.
