Steve Bruce wants West Brom to explore free agents, ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere mentioned
Steve Bruce wants to explore the free-agent market in a bid to strengthen his newly-inherited squad at West Brom, according to Football League World.
The football news website reports that Bruce, 61, wants to waste no time in adding his own stamp to the side even though the January transfer window closed at the start of this week.
It is understood that the new Baggies boss will have a look at who’s available on a free transfer and interestingly, the only player mentioned in Football League World‘s report is ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Extra depth?
West Brom’s biggest weakness is their lack of quality in the centre of the midfield.
Despite a bright start, Alex Mowatt has struggled at The Hawthorns, as has loanee Jayson Molumby. Robert Snodgrass was released on 31 January and Jake Livermore has had enough chances over the year and has never really put together a good run of form.
Wilshere, 30, is available but signing him would represent a massive risk for the Albion.

Of course, he has a lot of experience having made 182 Premier League appearances in his career while also playing in the Champions League and winning 34 caps for England.
However, Wilshere’s injury record is well-known and as he’s been without a club since the summer when he left Bournemouth, his fitness is going to be a major concern.
There are other free agents out there right now but aside from ageing players or those who you can see why they don’t have a club, no one stands out.
In other West Brom news, Bruce can get Albion back on course for promotion by unleashing this player.
