‘We will change’ – Steve Bruce promises change for West Brom fans
Steve Bruce says he will change things at West Brom in order to get the best from his team after replacing Valerien Ismael as manager.
Bruce was appointed as manager after four months out of work following his sacking at Newcastle, replacing Ismael who spent seven months in charge at the Hawthorns.
After struggling for goals this season, West Brom have seen their form slide and they’re on the brink of falling out of the playoff spots. Bruce believes that there needs to be change on the pitch, and he has committed to implementing that.

“High respect to Valerien Ismael,” Bruce said during his press conference. “He’s a very good man who plays a certain way and sticks with it. That’s normal. But I do believe you have to have the scope and flexibility to change at times.
“So we will be implementing change. We won’t implement huge changes straight away but we will change.”
Hallelujah
It’s what every West Brom fan was hoping for when Ismael was finally sacked, and while Bruce wasn’t the first name on their wishlist he is at least providing the bare minimum.
The Baggies have scored just 34 goals in 29 games so far this season and it’s been their defensive solidity which has seen them still in the race for promotion.

Bruce needs to find a way to keep the defensive solidity but add goals to the team and his promise of change shows that he intends to do just that.
He has managed to secure promotion a record number of times in the past and has a point to prove after his Newcastle spell.
If he can get the goals to flow at the Hawthorns between now and the end of the season, everyone will be happy and the chances of promotion are greatly increased.
