David Prutton predicts West Brom vs Blackburn result

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has made his prediction for Steve Bruce’s first home game as West Brom manager against Blackburn.

The Baggies were beaten in midweek 2-0 by Sheffield United, as Bruce’s first game as boss went completely against the plan.

Prutton was writing his predictions article for Sky Sports when he predicted that the game will finish as a 2-2 draw.

West Brom

“West Brom were beaten in Steve Bruce’s first game in charge at Sheffield United on Wednesday night,” he wrote. “It is not the start he would have had in mind, and he has work to do to turn things around.

“Blackburn are also suffering a little blip. They are three without a win, but the biggest concern is that the goals have dried up as well. I’ll back them to get back on the scoresheet here, but not to get back on the winning trail.”

Six-pointer

West Brom need points and the best way to get them is to start winning games.

Bruce promised change to the fans and immediately delivered by switching to a four-at-the-back system, but the game plan went out of the window when Jake Livermore was sent off in the first half.

The man advantage eventually paid dividends and they were comfortably beaten in the end, but they have a chance to start again now and take points off a rival at the same time.

The first thing he needs to figure out however is how to get this team scoring goals, with just 34 scored in 30 games this season in the league.

Prutton is expecting an entertaining game and thinks Bruce will be able to find a way to unlock the attacking potential in the side, but Blackburn are strong enough to hurt them too so a draw seems likely.
