Chris Lepkowski hits back at “Embarrassing” West Brom tactic v Blackburn

Chris Lepkowski has hit back at West Brom for their use of towels during their Championship games this season.

Darnell Furlong has attempted to turn his long-throw into a weapon, drying the ball each time, but it once again failed in the 0-0 draw with Blackburn last night.

Lepkowski admitted that it was “embarrassing” and made the Baggies very easy to defend against as it was obvious.

Writing on his personal Twitter account during the game, Lepkowski simply wasn’t happy with what he was watching.

“Can we sack that towel nonsense off next?” he wrote.

“It’s embarrassing.”

Embarrassing.

We wouldn’t mind if this was a consistent weapon, but it really isn’t.

At the start of the season, the Baggies used it to good effect, but that doesn’t mean you simply have to use it every single time the ball goes out of play.

You have to mix up your attacks, and not just hope to get lucky with a looped ball into the box every five minutes, why not play short and whip a quicker, more dangerous ball into the box that no one expects?

With Andy Carroll now in the side, there would have been added hope he could benefit, but even that hasn’t happened yet.

Steve Bruce needs to mix things up, or we will continue to bore our way through games and this late push to save the play-offs will simply fall away.

Now, that would be embarrassing.
