West Brom striker Andy Carroll hails Steve Bruce’s ‘intense’ training
West Brom striker Andy Carroll has hailed Steve Bruce’s training methods at the Palm Training Ground.
The new boss has found the perfect balance between fun and hard work according to the former England international.
Bruce is yet to win a game in his two games in charge of Albion but hopefully his hard work with the players on the training ground can change that.

“The training he (Bruce) puts on is sharp and intense and the lads are really enjoying it,” Carroll told the Express & Star.
“There is a lot of small-sided games which the gaffer likes to do to allow competition among the lads.
“I’ve had managers in the past who haven’t liked playing five-v-five or six-v-six games. But the gaffer likes it, and the boys do to.”

Patience
It’s certainly the morale within the team that Bruce is trying to change for the better.
The Baggies players confidence and creative flair has been completely ripped out of the squad under Valerien Ismael and the new boss is trying to restore that in a fun lighthearted way.
We all saw how Albion played under the Dutchman so can you imagine how they trained? Very boringly I can imagine.
The pair are polar opposites in their approach to managing and hopefully continue their indifference with the success they enjoy at the club.
Bruce still has a long way to go but everything he has said and done should fill the West Brom fans with confidence.
The results haven’t quite gone his way but there is a clear shift in the mood in and around the camp and with the players happy with the training their new boss is putting on, the results should follow.
It will be very interesting to see where he leads this team come the end of the season.
