West Brom encouraged as Daryl Dike pictured back in training return
There is reason for optimism for West Brom supporters as January headline signing Daryl Dike has been pictured back on the grass after injury.
The 21-year-old American has been out of action since he picked up an injury against Peterborough United last month and is still a way off getting back in the Baggies squad.
Steve Bruce is yet to have Dike at his disposal since taking over from Valerien Ismael earlier in February but his return is slowly coming into view.
BBC West Midlands Sport reported from Bruce’s press conference on Friday that Dike is targeting a return after the March international break when he hopes to help the Baggies push towards a playoff place.
Andy Carroll was a late January signing as Dike’s replacement and has played every minute of football since arriving at The Hawthorns.
Hurry up March
The third month of 2022 cannot get here soon enough with West Brom fans everywhere desperate to see the American international in an Albion shirt again.
He didn’t have much chance to impact the side under Ismael as he tried to work his way towards match fitness and the team haven’t scored since he limped off against Posh.

But there is reason for optimism for Baggies fans now Dike is back on the grass and, crucially, with a ball at his feet.
His Championship record should also excite supporters even though he is yet to get going at The Hawthorns since his arrival from Orlando City in the MLS.
He spent half the season on loan at Barnsley in 2020-21 where he tormented defenders, scoring nine times in 21 games as the Tykes reached the playoffs against all odds.
If he can hit the same form again post the March international break, it isn’t all over for West Brom despite their current poor form.
In other West Brom news, this defender, who has returned to the team recently, is loving life at The Hawthorns.
