West Brom consider free-agent move for Mbaye Diagne after recent Galatasaray release – report

West Brom have been handed the fresh opportunity to sign Mbaye Diagne as a free agent, according to Ryan Taylor.

The Express journalist has reported that the former loanee has been released by Galatasaray this season after picking up a serious injury.

It is suggested that it still isn’t sure whether or not Diagne will play again this season due to that problem picked up in a fall.

With injury worries surrounding Diagne, any imminent move appears highly unlikely for the Baggies.

The Senegalese forward didn’t exactly shine in the Premier League under Sam Allardyce but did get that one goal against Manchester United.

Andy Carroll has come in from the free agents market, with Daryl Dike also stepping up his recovery from a hamstring problem in recent days.

No chance.

Even West Brom wouldn’t be stupid enough to complete this signing.

Diagne suffered a serious injury from a fall in December, one that got his contract torn up, so there is no chance that he will be ready to make a big impact for months yet.

Steve Bruce needs game-changers who can help with this promotion push immediately, not someone who would come in and not be able to play until next season.

Diagne wasn’t exactly a favourite at The Hawthorns, and it would be another complete waste of money and time if he was brought in.

The free-agent market is looking harder by the day, with this alongside the failure to secure Mohamed Diame making it appear unlikely that anyone will arrive.
