West Brom want to sign Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff
West Brom are reportedly eyeing a summer swoop for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.
According to Football League World, the Baggies boss Steve Bruce is eyeing one of his former players and wants to bring him to the Hawthorns.
The 24-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season if he does not sign an extension at St James’ Park as his current deal expires in June.

Worth it
If Longstaff is indeed a free agent, then it’s worth paying slightly inflated wages and a higher than normal salary to bring him to the Hawthorns.
He’s a player that Bruce has worked with and has seen him train for a number of seasons.
After scoring in some big games, many expected the Englishman to kick on and maybe even go on to represent the Three Lions.
However, his career has stagnated at Newcastle and a move away from the club could be the best way to bring it back on track.

His former head coach Gary Bowyer waxed his lyrical and his quotes were included in a profile written about Longstaff in the Guardian in 2019.
He said, “He has this unbelievable knack of scoring, often from long range. He’s got a fantastic engine and fitness, and his knowledge of the game is very good. He did brilliantly for Blackpool.”
Hopefully, the club hierarchy can successfully convince him to join in the summer.
