West Brom starlet Jamaldeen Jimoh ‘sure to leave’ with Man City and Chelsea in the hunt
West Brom look certain to lose one of their most talented young players as Manchester City join Chelsea in the race to sign Jamaldeen Jimoh, according to The Sun.
The 15-year-old is turning heads across the country and the Citizens have entered the race to try and gazump their Premier League rivals who are contending with off-field issues.
The midfielder has been capped at Under-16 level for England and crucially for the Baggies, they will receive a fee for the player who is “sure to leave” according to Alan Nixon.

Hands are tied
Unfortunately for Albion, there is very little they can do to stop Jimoh from leaving the club right now.
Until a player turns 17 and signs a professional deal, they are free to talk to any other team anywhere in the world and they can agree to sign for them as long as a compensation fee is paid to the club they are leaving.
That is what the Baggies will be receiving if, or more likely when, the 15-year-old leaves The Hawthorns and with two of the biggest clubs in the world chasing after him, it could be quite the price tag.

It seems ridiculous that someone who is nowhere near the first-team could fund the club’s summer transfer window but that might be the case at West Brom.
The Baggies spent big on Daryl Dike in January but the American has been injured for the majority of his time in the Midlands and his transfer has sapped a big portion of the budget.
If the club can somehow get a seven-figure fee for Jimmoh, they might be able to bring in that one key man who will help them return to the Premier League and maybe even keep them there for an extended period of time.
Who knows? Maybe Jimoh will stay after all and commit his future to The Hawthorns but that seems to be increasingly unlikely.
In other West Brom news, we think Steve Bruce needs to stop using this player out of position to turn the club’s form around.
