West Brom v Swansea Confirmed XI: Andy Carroll starts

Steve Bruce names his West Brom eleven against Swansea as he eyes his first win since taking over the reins at the Hawthorns.

Andy Carroll retains his place in the starting eleven despite his lack of form.

Callum Robinson comes in for Karlan Grant in what will be the Baggies’ only change from their last game.

Right team?

There would’ve been some sections of the fanbase who would’ve wanted Carroll binned for this one.

His performances haven’t been great since his January move, but Bruce has stuck with him for the Swansea clash.

Results have been far from impressive since the former Newcastle boss took over from Valerien Ismael.

The style of football has also not been eye-catching, which gives rise to doubts over his appointment in the first place.

West Brom

If they are to challenge for promotion, then these are the kinds of games they’ve got to win.

Much like the Baggies, Swansea are in a rut too and they’re facing a very realistic relegation threat this season.

A win here takes them up to 11th in the table and will give the side a much-needed boost.

They can carry that momentum onto the next game and hopefully, go on a run of three or four wins on the bounce.
