Journalist Alan Nixon tears into West Brom after sour 2-0 loss v Swansea

West Brom endured another awful evening in the Championship last night as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Swansea City.

Joel Piroe and Cyrus Christie scored the goals for the Swans who kept the Baggies in the bottom half of the league table with no team picking up fewer points from the previous five games.

It certainly hasn’t been the new manager bounce that the Albion supporters were hoping for and that was evidenced by the mass exodus from The Hawthorns after Christie scored Swansea’s second.

The Sun journalist Alan Nixon was amazed by what he saw last night and suggested on his personal Twitter account that Valerien Ismael had been working wonders in the Midlands before he was sacked.

“On closer reflection, Ismael performed miracles to have this crew in the top six for so long…” Nixon said.

Now what?

One point from the previous five games is appalling form for any team in the division, let alone for supposedly one of the best squads.

West Brom

We don’t know what Bruce has done within the playing squad since his arrival but we do know it has massively backfired.

It’s now seven games without a win and only one goal in that time, courtesy of Jayson Molumby away at Middlesbrough, which is sackable form for any manager in world football.

Bruce is fortunate he has only just arrived at the club because he would be out of the door otherwise and Baggies fans might not be too upset if he does get a surprise boot before the end of the season.

Ultimately for Albion, the season is over already with relegation no real threat given the lack of quality and points deductions at the foot of the table.

Bruce can try to rebuild for next season but he will be lucky to get that chance if this keeps up.
