Journo names long list of viable free transfer for West Brom this summer

The upcoming summer transfer window could see a huge turnover in players at West Brom with their current squad in dire straits on the pitch.

The Baggies are currently on a horrible run of form with just one point and one goal from their previous five games and even a change in manager hasn’t turned things around.

The Birmingham Mail has put together a list of 39 Championship players who are set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign that could be a good fit at The Hawthorns.

Some of the players mentioned, such as Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz and Millwall’s Jed Wallace, could be set for a Premier League move and that might quash any hopes of them playing for the Albion.

Who is the best option?

The more realistic options include the likes of Stoke City’s Nick Powell, who would fill a gaping hole in the number 10 role, and Cardiff’s Joe Ralls who could add much-needed quality to the Baggies midfield.

There are a host of wingers potentially available with the pick of the bunch being Blackpool’s Josh Bowler, Huddersfield’s Josh Koroma and Derby County captain Tom Lawrence.

The latter of the trio is unable to sign an extension at Pride Park due to their ongoing financial problems so he should be one who is chased by many given his experience at this level.

More defensive options include Blackburn’s Darragh Lenihan and Bournemouth left-back Jordan Zemura but the problems are in attack, not defence right now.

In other West Brom news, we think the club should be begging to bring back this former Baggies favourite in the dugout.
