Jake Livermore gets most abuse from West Brom fans

West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore gets more abuse than anyone else in the squad, according to reports from The Athletic.

The Baggies are going through a wretched run of form, and there is a feeling among some of the players that Steve Bruce had made mistakes as well.

The report suggests that the players are embarrassed by the magnitude of the slump, while some of the staff at the club feel that Bruce has failed to solve any of the problems the club faced under Valerien Ismael.

The Atheltic further adds that there is a concern over lack of leadership at the club, and as such is there no short-term fix.

Free-falling

At one point this season, the Baggies were going strong in the league and were in top form to secure promotion, but they are now sinking without a trace.

The reports about Livermore are really shocking. The 32-year-old has been rightly criticised at times for his on-field performances, and his red-card in Bruce’s first game against Sheffield United is equally unacceptable.

At the same time, he is also someone who motivates younger players and private urges his teammates to raise their standards.

Livermore is widely respected among the players and staff and he will return as club-skipper against Hull City following his four-game ban.

There is a blame-game culture at the club, and it seems nobody is willing to take responsibility for the sump in form. The Baggies have lost six of their last seven games, drawing the other one.

The slim hopes of promotion are quickly fading away, and Bruce probably feels that the task of resurrecting the side is simply massive.
