Andy Goldstein scoffs about Steve Bruce as Everton fan wants West Brom boss over Frank Lampard
West Brom boss Steve Bruce was laughed at over the job he is doing in the Championship after an Everton fan called for him to replace Frank Lampard.
Following the Toffees’ 5-0 destruction at Tottenham on Monday night (7 March) a fan rang into talkSPORT to call for the former Chelsea manager to be sacked.
When he touted the Baggies boss instead, host Andy Goldstein was incredulous and dismissed the way the club have gone backwards since he replaced Valerien Ismael.

In a clip posted to talkSPORT’s Twitter page, co-host Jason Cundy asks: “Who do you want in?”
Everton fan Oliver responds: “You’ll probably laugh at me for this but I’m going to say Steve Bruce.”
A shocked Goldstein reacts with: “What!? Have you seen what he’s doing in the Championship? Sorry, West Brom were knocking on the door when he went there.”
The fan sticks to his guns, saying: “I know he hasn’t had the greatest start at West Brom but he’s an experienced manager. Lampard is inept.”
Dismissive
The danger of this one happening in the near future is pretty minuscule, although there may be some fans at the Hawthorns in recent weeks who wouldn’t be too upset by it.
But with the Baggies finally securing their first win under the new man, after he relented to the calls to give Taylor Gardner-Hickman a chance, it has generated a bit of optimism.
Jake Livermore’s return, in a holding role that he has rarely featured in this season, turned out to be crucial in the victory over Hull City.

So for all Goldstein is completely dismissive of the former Newcastle man, there is a slight chance he would be reconsidering his stance in a few weeks time.
If, and it is a big if currently, the club can get some results together things will suddenly look a lot rosier.
With Daryl Dike also still to come in there is the potential for a late flourish that looked impossible before the visit to Humberside.
The Baggies were hardly knocking on the door when Bruce came in, with the major downturn in form under Ismael leading to his exit, but the fact does remain that they have fallen down the table in recent weeks.
