Steve Bruce outlines his aim for West Brom in long run

Steve Bruce has suggested that he aims to unite West Brom fans with the club to maximise the result.

The Baggies fans are known to be very passionate, but this season we’ve seen there has been a fractious relationship.

The players have got plenty of abuse from the fans, although it has to be said they’ve every right to feel frustrated about how the season has panned out.

Bruce said, as quoted by Express and Star: “My aim is to unite the club with the supporters. I think that’s vitally important.

“We need a team that they enjoy watching and can associate with. And hopefully, given time, that is what we’ll give them.”

Continuity

Ron Gourlay suggested last week, as reported by Express and Star, that Bruce remains a big part of West Brom’s plans for the future.

It was decided in the board meeting that everyone need to stick together to get the best out of this squad, and plans for the summer will be made involving the 61-year-old manager.

It is really important to connect with the fans, and give them something to cheer about.

Bruce only signed an 18-month contract when he replaced Valerien Ismael last month, but he appears to be a big part of the club’s future, irrespective of where they finish at the end of the season.

It takes time to build a strong connection with the fans and the Baggies will need a holistic approach in the summer to rectify their mistakes.

There have been signs of improvement in the past two games, and the Baggies should focus on getting maximum points from their remaining fixtures to give themselves a slim chance for the play-offs.
