West Brom legend Ally Robertson says promotion hopes still alive
West Brom legend Ally Robertson believes that The Albion can still achieve their promotion targets despite their recent terrible run of form.
Steve Bruce’s side extended their positive run with a hard fought 1-0 win against title pushers Fulham at the Hawthorns.
Robertson hailed the changes the former Newcastle boss made and claimed a win against Bristol in Albion’s next game would put them in a “fantastic position” to finish sixth.

He wrote in his Express & Star column: “Bruce has gone with a 3-5-2 set-up, with Karlan Grant and Callum Robinson up front, and it worked a treat. You’ve got to give the boss credit for that.
“But again, the big thing now is Saturday and keeping things going. If we get the job done, it puts us in a fantastic position to go on and claim one of those last playoff spots.
“Seeing the fans as happy as they were against Fulham was a much-welcome sight, and you hope the players can feed off that.
“We can get into the top six. It’s there for the taking if we can keep performances like Tuesday going.”
Still alive.
Against all odds, this West Brom side look to be mounting a last-gasp promotion push.

Admittedly, it does seem unlikely with how late Bruce’s side have left it to start putting some points on the board but there is hope, nonetheless.
Seven points in the last three games has lifted the Baggies up to a still rather embarrassing 12th in the table, just six points off the play off places.
The win against title pushers Fulham was a real sign of intent from Albion. A reminder to the rest of the league that they are still there and despite horrid form this season, they still remain one of the bigger clubs in the Championship.
West Brom face Bristol next time out and that is potentially a season defining game. Win there and the momentum going into the final stretch of the season will be firmly with Bruce and his players.
The Baggies have left it late, but it is all to play for.
