Steve Bruce’s West Brom contract has break clause – Steve Madeley
Steve Bruce might have only become West Brom manager in February but there are already questions regarding his future at The Hawthorns.
Recent weeks have seen the 61-year-old turn around a team plummeting towards the bottom half of the Championship into playoff contenders once more.
The Baggies are now unbeaten in four league games which include matches against promotion contenders Fulham and Huddersfield Town.

It’s been an impressive turnaround having not won any of his first five games in charge but Albion still lie down in 12th.
The Athletic’s Steve Madeley believes that Bruce’s contract with West Brom does have a break clause should they want to appoint a different manager next season.
“I’ve been told by one source that there is some kind of break clause and I would be surprised if there isn’t, but that’s not something I’ve been able to verify,” Madeley said.
Ambition
This might be one of the biggest decisions made by the West Brom board in recent seasons.

What they decide to do with Bruce at the end of the season will tell every Baggies fan how much ambition the club really have.
If he stays, it says to supporters that the club aren’t desperate to get back to the Premier League which would be a crying shame.
It would be a real kick in the teeth to the supporters in that regard but if they choose to get rid and bring in a fresh face, things will look very rosy at The Hawthorns.
There are countless quality managers who would jump at the chance to manage Albion so the board surely have to take the punt and send Bruce away once the season is over to make room for new blood.
In other West Brom news, Ron Gourlay believes this rarely-seen Baggies talent is a “future star” of the football club.
